This line was derived from a liver metastasis taken from a patient prior to therapy.
Propagation:
ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%. Temperature: 37.0°C Atmosphere: air, 95%; carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%
Subculturing:
Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:6 is recommended Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Remove spent medium, and add fresh 0.25% trypsin, 0.03% EDTA solution for 2 to 3 minutes at room temperature.
Remove the trypsin and incubate the flask at 37C for 5 to 10 minutes or until the cells detach.
Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks.
Preservation:
Culture medium, 95%; DMSO, 5%
