Derived from the same buffy coat preparation as CCL-120 (CCRF-SB) by serially transplanting into newborn syrian hamsters.
Propagation:
ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2005. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%. Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing:
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension in fresh medium at 3 - 5 X 10 exp5 viable cells/ml.
A maximum of 2 - 3 X 10 exp6 viable cells/ml is obtainable.
Preservation:
culture medium 95%; DMSO, 5%
